About us

Dawn Chorus is a trading name of Luke Tyler, Lakeside Edge, Peterborough, PE7 8RH. You can reach us at hello@dawnchorus.xyz.

Buying music

Prices are shown per venue, per collection. When you license two or more venues in one order, each licence is discounted as shown at checkout. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout. Payments are handled securely by Stripe, and we never see your card details.

Your order is confirmed when your payment goes through. You'll then receive an email with a download button for each of your files, and your licence certificate attached as a PDF, with a page for each venue showing its name and address.

Please download your files and keep your own copy. If you lose them, email us with your order details and we'll help.

Refunds

Your download links are emailed to you as soon as you pay. If something isn't right, email us at hello@dawnchorus.xyz within 14 days of the date of purchase and we'll sort it out, whether that means fixing a file or giving you a refund. After 14 days from the date of purchase, we can't offer refunds.

Custom composition

Custom work is agreed separately in writing, including the price, timeline and licence, before any work starts.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in another country, you keep any consumer rights that your local law gives you.

The licence

Every licence you buy comes with the terms below. They are the same wording as your licence certificate, which is attached to your order email, with a page for each venue.

Who is covered

Dawn Chorus ("we") grants the business that bought the licence ("you") a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual licence to play the recordings it bought at each venue named on its licence certificate, on the terms below.

Each licence covers one venue: the premises at the address on the certificate. It covers every room, therapist and session at that venue. To play the music at another venue, buy a licence for that venue.

What you can do

• Play it at the venue. Play the music in public at the venue, including receptions, treatment rooms, relaxation areas, pools, changing rooms and corridors, all day, every day.
• Play it during treatments and events. Use the music during treatments, classes and events held at the venue.
• Keep it for good. There is no subscription, renewal or expiry. The licence lasts for as long as you play the music at that venue.

What you cannot do

• Play it at other venues. You may not play the music at a venue that isn't named on your licence certificate.
• Share or sell the files. You may not resell, give away or share the audio files, or include them in a music library, sound pack or stock audio product.
• Publish it. You may not use the music in videos, podcasts, adverts, apps or recordings that you publish or distribute, or release it on Spotify, Apple Music or anywhere else.
• Claim the music. You may not register the music with YouTube Content ID, or any similar system.
• Train AI. You may not use the music, in whole or in part, to train, fine-tune or improve any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, or allow anyone else to.

No PRO licence needed

The music has never been registered with PRS for Music, PPL, ASCAP, BMI or any other performing rights organisation or collecting society. Nobody else has a claim on it, so you don't need a separate background music licence to play it at the venue.

Ownership

All rights in the music remain with Dawn Chorus. This licence gives you permission to play the music. It does not transfer ownership of it.

Proof of licence

Keep your licence certificate with your order confirmation email. Together they are your proof of licence. Questions: hello@dawnchorus.xyz.

If the licence terms are broken

If you break these terms, this licence ends and you must stop playing the music.
